Description
A flavorful one-skillet meal combining spicy sausage, sweet honey BBQ sauce, and pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz Rotini Pasta
- 12 oz Spicy Sausage (Andouille or Italian), sliced
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce (smoky or honey-based)
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder or Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the rotini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned and caramelized, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if necessary. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until it’s fragrant and golden.
- Make the Sauce: Add the BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Combine and Toss: Return the cooked sausage to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta and sausage are evenly coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top for a bright finish and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
