- 30 oz frozen hash browns
- 1 can cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom for vegetarian)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups shredded cheese (sharp cheddar recommended)
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup onion flakes (or diced onion)
- 1 cup cornflakes or breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 2 cups of shredded cheese, butter, and onion flakes in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix the remaining cheese and crushed cornflakes (or breadcrumbs) in a separate bowl and sprinkle evenly over the potato mixture.
- Bake for about 45-60 minutes, until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
