Ingredients
Scale
- 1 6–8 lb fully cooked bone-in ham
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices, juice reserved
- ½ cup pineapple juice (from the can)
- ¼ cup honey (or maple syrup)
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp ground cloves (optional)
- Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Score the Ham: Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about ¼ inch deep.
- Mix the Glaze: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, ½ cup pineapple juice, honey (or maple syrup), Dijon mustard, and ground cloves.
- Brush & Bake: Place the ham cut side down in a large roasting pan. Brush half of the glaze over the surface and cover loosely with foil. Bake for 1 hour.
- Add Pineapple: Remove the foil and arrange the pineapple slices over the ham, securing them with toothpicks if desired.
- Glaze Again: Brush the remaining glaze over the ham and pineapple slices.
- Finish Baking: Return the ham to the oven uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, basting once more.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C) before serving.
