Description

Voodoo Egg Rolls are a flavorful appetizer filled with shrimp, crab, and sausage, perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of chopped shrimp
  • 1 cup of crab meat
  • 1/2 cup of cooked sausage (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
  • Egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, crab meat, crumbled sausage, cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and coated.
  2. Roll the egg rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface, with a corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the seafood filling in the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides over the filling, and then roll it tightly from the bottom to the top. Use a little water to seal the edges securely.
  3. Heat the oil: In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure you have enough oil to fully submerge the egg rolls for even cooking.
  4. Fry the egg rolls: Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Drain and serve: Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg rolls from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute seafood with diced vegetables and tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
