Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Then, stir in milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour your workspace and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into squares or rectangles, whatever shape you fancy.
- Heat your oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the beignets in small batches until they puff up and turn a beautiful golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Once fried, transfer them to paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Finally, dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm for the best experience!
