- 3 pounds chicken drumsticks (skin-on)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (optional)
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 cups BBQ sauce, divided (1½ cups for cooking and ½ cup for brushing)
Instructions
- Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels.
- Mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning in a small bowl.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the drumsticks.
- Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer in the slow cooker.
- Whisk honey into 1½ cups of the BBQ sauce and pour it over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Preheat your oven broiler.
- Transfer the drumsticks to a baking sheet lined with foil and brush with the remaining BBQ sauce.
- Broil for 3–4 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use skin-on drumsticks for better caramelization.
