Description

A quick and comforting one-pan dinner featuring ground beef, broccoli, and gooey cheddar cheese, perfect for busy weeknights and low-carb diets.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (about 1 medium head)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and warm until shimmering.
  2. Add ground beef. Break into small crumbles with a spatula and cook until deeply browned, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Push the beef to one side of the pan. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the empty space and cook for about 3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add broccoli to the beef mixture and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Cover the skillet with a tight lid and cook for 5–7 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
  6. Reduce the heat to low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
  7. Sprinkle cheddar evenly over the mixture, cover, and cook for 2–3 minutes until melted and gooey.
  8. If using, add Worcestershire and red pepper flakes, stirring to combine.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot straight from the pan.

Notes

For a creamier finish, consider baking the dish briefly after topping with cheese. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3–4 days.
