A delightful twist on classic cookies, combining soft red velvet texture with chocolatey Oreo crumbles.

- 2 ½ cups (313 g) All-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (21 g) Dutch processed cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
- ¾ teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1 cup (227 g) Unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large Eggs
- ¾ cup (165 g) Light brown sugar, packed
- ¾ cup (150 g) Granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon Red gel food coloring
- ¼ cup Oreo cookie crumbs (about 3 Oreo cookies, blended to fine crumbs)
- 6 crushed Oreo cookie pieces (6 Oreo cookies crushed into bite-sized pieces)
- ¾ cup Semisweet chocolate chips, plus more for topping
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan or microwave, then let it cool in a stand mixer bowl.
- Blend 3 Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and crush 6 for bite-sized pieces.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the melted butter and both sugars in a stand mixer until creamy (about 2 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Fold in semisweet chocolate chips and Oreo pieces using a rubber spatula.
- Chill the dough for at least 3 hours covered with plastic wrap.
- Prep cookie balls on wax paper, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake cookies for 12-14 minutes until edges are set, then shape and top with chocolate chips.
- Cool on a baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
Enjoy cookies warm with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of white chocolate for an added treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
