Description
A cozy dish combining succulent chicken with a rich, buttery sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Caramelized onions (for garnish, if desired)
- Shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (optional topping)
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken dry. Rub with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Sauté the garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Cook the chicken: Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet. Sear each side until golden brown, roughly 5-6 minutes per side.
- Create the sauce: Pour in the warm chicken stock and honey. Stir until well combined, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Finish cooking: Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let it simmer until the chicken is fully cooked, about 10-15 minutes.
- Add butter and herbs: Once cooked, stir in the remaining butter and dried parsley.
- Serve hot: Remove from heat and garnish with caramelized onions and a sprinkle of cheese if desired.
Notes
Serve with fluffy rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh side salad. Pair with iced tea or a light beer.
