A simple and delicious Margherita pizza topped with fresh basil, mozzarella, and ripe tomatoes.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm water and olive oil; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Place the rolled dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread crushed tomatoes evenly on the dough, season with salt and pepper.
- Arrange mozzarella slices on top and add fresh basil leaves.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool briefly, then slice and serve.
Notes
For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
