Description
A comforting and hearty meal featuring tender, slow-cooked beef in savory au jus, served on French rolls with provolone cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- French rolls or hoagie buns
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Optional: sliced onions and bell peppers
Instructions
- Start by placing the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the au jus gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and beef broth until combined. Pour this mixture over the roast.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the meat is incredibly tender.
- Once cooked, use two forks to shred the beef right in the slow cooker.
- While the beef is finishing up, toast your French rolls or hoagie buns for an extra crunch.
- Serve the shredded beef on the rolls, topped with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Don’t forget to serve it with a cup of the au jus for dipping!
Notes
For a more flavorful result, sear the beef before slow cooking. Experiment with different cheeses and additional vegetables for variety.
