Deliciously crunchy and savory crispy air fryer onions, perfect as a topping or snack.
Ingredients

- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings, about ¼ inch thick.
- Soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl.
- Remove the onion rings from the buttermilk and dip each into the flour mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place a single layer of onion rings in it.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove from air fryer and let cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For variations, try using sweet onions or adding spices for a kick.
