Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl.
  4. Remove the onion rings from the buttermilk and dip each into the flour mixture.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place a single layer of onion rings in it.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Remove from air fryer and let cool on a wire rack before serving.
