Description
A delightful one-pan meal featuring chicken, banana peppers, and a creamy sauce that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup banana pepper rings (jarred or fresh)
- 1 cup heavy cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil: In a skillet, add two tablespoons of olive oil and heat over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken: Once hot, add the bite-sized chicken pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sauté until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Incorporate banana peppers: Add the banana pepper rings to the chicken, stirring to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the cream: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to coat the chicken and peppers evenly.
- Simmer: Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Taste and adjust: Always taste your dish! Adjust seasonings if necessary.
- Serve hot: Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
Can be served with rice or polenta, and pairs well with steamed broccoli or a green salad.
