Description
A hearty casserole layering seasoned ground meat and creamy soup, topped with crispy tater tots and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 can (15 oz) sweet corn, drained (or 1 1/2 cups frozen corn, thawed)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat a large skillet over medium. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up until no pink remains (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in the corn and soup until evenly combined. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- Spread the beef mixture in an even layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange the tater tots in a single layer over the beef mixture.
- Sprinkle the cheddar evenly over the tater tots.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra browning if desired.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
