- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
- 8 oz mushrooms, chopped
- 4 oz prosciutto, sliced thin
- 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they’re soft, approximately 5 minutes.
- Mix in the cubed chicken and prosciutto, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to prevent sticking.
- Spoon the chicken mixture into the center of the pastry, ensuring it’s not overly full to avoid spills.
- Fold the pastry over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Brush the top with beaten egg to create a beautiful golden crust.
- Place the pastry-wrapped chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing to serve.
Notes
To keep the pastry from getting soggy, drain any excess moisture from the filling before wrapping.
