Quick and easy Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes bursting with bold flavors for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 brioche buns
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Brown the Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground chicken. Cook until it’s fully browned, approximately 6-8 minutes.
- Sauté Veggies: Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- Add Seasoning: Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the mixture, followed by the diced tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow this to simmer for 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
- Make Cheesy Sauce: In a separate small saucepan over low heat, combine the shredded cheddar cheese and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and you have a smooth cheese sauce.
- Toast the Buns: While the sauce is coming together, slice the brioche buns and toast them until golden brown.
- Assemble: Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture generously onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Drizzle with the creamy cheese sauce and place the top bun in place.
- Serve and Enjoy: Dig in immediately while they’re still warm and gooey!
